Welcome to St. Leonard’s C of E First School, Dunston
We are a small, unique First school; part of the Trinity Federation and belong to the Diocese of Lichfield. We have a strong, family atmosphere and are committed to providing a bespoke school journey for each pupil. All staff are highly motivated and resolute in providing the very best education possible.
Our school’s teaching and learning is underpinned by our Anglican faith where our children Love to Learn and Learn to Love with God. The school grounds are immense for such a small school and are continually being developed for outdoor learning opportunities. Our Christian distinctiveness and values are evident inside and outside of the school curriculum.
We have strong links with St. Leonard’s church with children participating and leading in Collective Worship with Rev Sue in the most stunning church here in Dunston. Visitors are welcome; parents and carers are invited to the celebrations and services too - so please refer to our newsletters to keep updated.
Our dedicated Trinity Federation (LAC) Board of Governors ensure that the school is held to account; challenging and supporting our journeys. We work closely with the other schools in the federation thus enabling our small number of children on roll to benefit from additional resources and personnel.
Our PTA members are highly motivated and fundraise with love to give the children the ‘extras’ that a small school’s budget cannot sustain.
A favourite prayer to help us move forward with our lifelong learning:
There are so many things we could ask you for.
Today we ask for wisdom, that we may understand you and the world and people better.
Help us to look and to listen with an open mind, that we may learn.
