Links to the Church

Jesus said: 'I have come that everyone may have life and may have it in all it's fullness'

John 10:10

We are a church school and have strong links with St Leonard's Church, Dunston.  Reverend Sue Mayo regularly leads assembly in school and the children take part in various services in the Church at Easter, Harvest and Christmas where parents are welcome to join us.

SIAMS inspection focuses on the impact of the Church school's Christian vision it has on pupils and adults. This involves looking at the school’s Christian vision, the provision the school makes because of this vision and how effective this provision is in enabling all pupils to flourish. SIAMS inspectors do not look for a set template of what a Church school should be like, but rather take the particular context of the school into account and base their evaluation on the outcomes rather than the process.

'With God all things are possible'

Mark 10:27

What makes us distinctive at St Leonard's C.E First School & Nursery?

Our school is governed by the six core values which can be rooted in Biblical teaching that underpin our daily existence at school and hopefully also at home.

'Let all that you do, be done in love'

Corinthians 16:14

Our Worship Team 2020 - 2021

Our worship team help to raise our profile of Christian distictiveness in our church school.

Our Christian Vision

We think about the 'Fruit of the Spirit' and our core values in everything we do.  With God's love, we develop enquiring minds with a love of life and all its diversity.

'With God, all things are possible'
Mark 10:27

'Learn to Love, Love to Learn'
