It is appreciated if staff are kept informed of any problems or unusual circumstances relating to your child, information will be dealt with sensitively and with discretion.
Children should not bring medicines to school unless it is absolutely necessary. Advice from the school nurse and the LEA is that medicine needing to be taken three times a day can be taken before school, after school and at bedtime.
Medicine that is required four times a day (required at lunch-time or before food) will be given, providing that it is a prescribed medicine that is clearly labelled with the child’s name and dosage. This must be accompanied by a permission form from the child’s parent/guardian, permission forms are available from the school office, staff cannot administer medicine without this. The completed form and medicine must be handed in at the school office before school starts and collected from there at the end of the school day. Children must not keep any medicine in their school bags.
Some illnesses and allergies (eg asthma or diabetes) require long term medication, please contact the Headteacher in these cases so that individual arrangements can be made.
